 1.  Straight cable:-
-It has a 8 pin.
-It is used to connect different types of devices.
-It is used to connect host to switch or hub.
-It is used to connect router to switch or hub.
-It is used to connect computer to DSL modem.
-It is relatively simply to create.
-It is connect like a 1 to 1,2 to 2.
-This would be an Ethernet –only cable & wouldn’t work with voice ,token ring ,ISDN etc.

                FOR 568B straight cable:-

FOR 568A straight cable:-
 2.  Cross Cable:-

-It is used to connect same type of devices.
-It follows the 1-3 &2-6 rule , it means pin no. 1 is connected through the pin no. 3 or pin no. 2 is connected through the pin no. 6.
-It is used to connect directly two host.
-It is used to connect two switches or hubs are directly.
-It is used to connect routers to a switches or hubs for expanding network

 3.  Console cable:-
-This cable isn’t used to connect any Ethernet connection together.
-We can use this Ethernet cable to connect a router to a router by console serial communication port.
-If there has a CISCO router or switch ,would used to connect PC running hyper terminal to the cisco hardware.(in simply configuration ,reset & access the router)
